Prayer for Financial Breakthrough, Unity, and Hope

Welcome back to The Praying Couple Podcast and our weekly prayer installment: Marriage Prayer for the Week Ahead.
In this week’s Spirit-led marriage prayer, Mike and Carlie pray over couples who are believing God for financial breakthrough, unity, wisdom, hope, and strength to keep standing on God’s Word. Recorded right before celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary, this prayer is also a reminder that marriage is worth sowing into, fighting for, and covering in prayer.
Whether you are facing financial pressure, discouragement, blame, comparison, emotional weariness, or a season that feels dark or uncertain, this prayer is an invitation to come back into agreement with God, speak life over your marriage, and allow His Word to become the foundation beneath your feet.
- God is still present.
- Marriage still matters.
- And prayer still has power.
IN THIS EPISODE WE PRAY FOR:
- Financial wisdom, favor, and breakthrough
- Couples to come into agreement instead of blame
- Husbands and wives to stop comparing and start standing together
- Healing over words spoken in the past that do not align with God’s Word
- Marriages to be strengthened as a witness for Christ
- Couples who feel hopeless, discouraged, or spiritually weary
- The courage to seek help in unsafe or abusive situations
- God to send wise, skilled, and Spirit-led support
- Light to overcome darkness in marriages and homes
- Couples to build their marriage on the Word of God
KEY THEMES:
Financial breakthrough and wisdom
Mike prays over couples facing financial burdens, obstacles, and attacks, asking God for wisdom, favor, provision, and breakthrough.
Agreement in marriage
This prayer calls couples away from blame, comparison, and rehearsing the past, and invites them into unity through the Holy Spirit.
Hope when things feel dark
Carlie encourages listeners who feel like their situation is dire, hopeless, or heavy to come boldly to God instead of trying to figure everything out alone.
The power of God’s Word
This episode emphasizes standing on the Word, praying the Word, agreeing with the Word, and refusing to allow circumstances, emotions, news, bills, or fear to have the final say.
Marriage as a witness
Mike and Carlie pray for marriages to become a visible testimony that Jesus is alive and that biblical marriage still works when couples surrender to God.
SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS:

Romans 10:17 — Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Ecclesiastes 3:2 — There is a time to plant and a time to harvest.

PRAYER FOCUS FOR THE WEEK:

Hello, hello. Hey everyone. How are you doing? We are so excited to come with another weekly prayer to cover your marriage. Now, for those of you who don't know us, my name is Carlie Kercheval, and I'm here with my husband, Mike Kercheval. And we are the founders of the Praying Couple and the Praying Couple podcast. So we are excited today because this prayer is actually we're praying for you guys right before we get ready to leave for a short trip for our 26th wedding anniversary. Yeah. So it's it's easy for us because we got married in June of 2000. And so we can always know when June rolls around, whatever the year is, that's how many years we've been married.
SpeakerAnd so for us, just just to let you guys know, this will be this will be our third trip going to Charleston for our anniversary. For our anniversary.
Carlie K.Yeah.
SpeakerThe first trip, we had it, we had some serious distractions right away that said, hey, we need you back at home.
Carlie K.Yeah, we we literally left. We weren't even in Charleston for 24 hours the first time. We had our youngest son, whom just graduated high school now, but back then he was a freshman. He and his bigger brother had a basketball tournament that they were playing in that summer. And it ended up that we would always tell him, hey, Solomon, move the cars, back them up away from the basketball hoop when you're practicing. Simple, right? Not a big deal. Well, this young man did not, and he ended up cracking his brother's windshield. And his brother, Malachi's older brother, he was to drive his younger brother and some of their teammates to this tournament.
SpeakerYeah.
Carlie K.So needless to say, Mike and I had to cut our, that was our 25th, wasn't it? No, 24th. 24th, yeah. 24th. Had to cut our 24th wedding anniversary trip to Charleston. We it just it was it was a mess, y'all. It was it was a mess. But then we went back for our 25th, yep, which was awesome, but it was short. But this time we're going back longer.
SpeakerYes.
Carlie K.We love it. We have had plans to go further away because we live in Myrtle Beach, but we are grateful that Charleston is such a charming city and we look forward to exploring more together this year.
SpeakerYep.
Carlie K.All right. Well, we are gonna pray however the Spirit of God leads us. We are grateful for each one of you, and we want you to know we are fully invested in praying for you and your marriage. So, Mike, you want to start?
SpeakerYes, Father, we just come before you. We thank you, God, for this is the day that you have made. We will rejoice and be exceedingly glad in it. God, I just pray, God, for marriages out there. God, if there's anyone right now struggling with the financial burden, God, I pray, God, for wisdom. I pray for favor. I pray, God, for agreement. God, I pray for breakthrough. God, there's people out there that's been believing you for getting needs met, and there's been distractions, there's been obstacles, there's been attacks within their finances, God. I speak healing and life over it right now in the name of Jesus. I speak encouragement right now in the name of Jesus. God, you say faith without works is dead. God, there's people out there that's putting their faith into action and they need a miracle from you. So, God, I pray for breakthrough in this. God, I also pray, God, for marriages out there, God, for agreement. God, that people do not give in to the blame game or comparing themselves to one another. But God, I pray, God, that you will bring us together in unity in the Holy Spirit. God, I just pray, God, that there will be agreement, that that people will not bring up things from the past, but that they will stand on your word and speak life over themselves, over their marriage, over their mindset, God. I speak healing over it right now, in the name of Jesus. God, I pray, God, that you will help them to cast down vain imaginations or any words that have been spoken over them from people in the past, or even words that they have spoken that doesn't line up with your word. I pray, God, that you will have your angels ministering to their marriage right now. God, I thank you that your presence is here. I thank you, God, that you are using their marriage as a as a as a foundation to model after Christ and and other people can see that and build their faith into that, God. I thank you for it. There's pioneers out there that they're making uh a line in the sand saying we're gonna live for Christ. Yes, and I pray, God, that you will continually give them what they need: peace, wisdom, yes, Lord. Help them to build their faith. God, they're not giving up, even though circumstances is saying to give up and to withdraw, but God, give them the strength to press in, yes, to not hold back, to speak your word, to stand on your word, to get that boldness that only comes from you. And God, I thank you for this in the mighty name of Jesus.
Carlie K.Father, I just stand in agreement and I thank you for the power of prayer. I thank you, Father, that you give us the blueprint for prayer, God, it's your word. I pray, God, that you continue to honor your word, God, in our lives, in our marriages. God, I just thank you that you give us your word that we can pray it. So when we come into the power of agreement and understanding this mighty, mighty mechanism in the realm of the spirit that manifests in the realm of men. I pray, God, that the power of agreement would speak so loudly in this world, husbands and wives in agreement, that it would speak so loudly, God, that it would show the world that not only are you alive, that Jesus is alive, yes, but that marriage is still working. Marriage works. Marriage is of you. Marriage is an institution, it is holy, it is, it is glorious, and it is something that can absolutely come to pass in somebody's life if they so desire. So, Father, I pray today, just for wisdom for those that need finances, God, I pray, Lord, that you will just continue to create opportunities, Father, opportunities for them to sow seed. We know that your word is very clear, that there is a time to plant and a time to harvest, God. And I pray that in the waiting seasons, God, that they would water the seeds of faith, the seeds of finances, the seeds of just working, God. They're putting their hand to the plow. I pray, God, that they would just continue to water those seeds by the power of your word, agreeing with your word, not letting circumstances or emotions or economies or news articles or bills or paychecks that seem short to dictate what they believe. Yes, Father. But instead, they're being grounded and rooted in your word. They are literally standing on it. They understand the power of agreeing with your word because your word is truth. Father, I pray too, thanking you for giving couples around the world who are listening to this prayer encouragement, the hope that they need to keep going forward. I sense, Father God, that you want us to cover people who are in situations where it seems dire, hopeless, dark. I want to encourage you, brother and sister, right now that the matchless name of Jesus, the spirit of the living God, is telling you to not lose hope, to come to his throne room. Don't try to figure it out yourself. As Michael prayed earlier, there's a tit-for-tat game that many people play. They play the blame game. They play the, oh, but this is what it was, and this is how it is or isn't. We cannot lean to our own understanding. So I want to encourage you now, and Father, I pray that you would give our brothers and sisters, listening to this prayer, the power to do this. Yes, Father. That you would stand in agreement with God, that you would seek your father, that you would remember that his thoughts are not our thoughts, his ways are not our ways. He's forgiven you just as much as he's forgiven your spouse. He's forgiven each one of us because we are imperfect. But I pray, Father, if there are people who are in situations that are abusive, that you would give them the strength to seek help.
SpeakerYes.
Carlie K.If there are people who need, you know, just spiritual guidance, God, that you would just lead the right people, skilled laborers to come across their path to help them, God. I thank you, Lord, that you are the lifter of their head. And I just thank you, Father God, that when light enters the chat, when light enters the room as it is right now through this prayer and the power of agreement, because we know you're here in the midst of us, that darkness ceases. Darkness fades. So, Father, I thank you that you continue to light the path for our feet, for our marriages, and you continue to give us the desires of our hearts so long as they align with your word. So, God, again, I thank you for being our hope, our fortress, our protector, our guide. We thank you, Father God, for just being everything that you say that you are. Thank you for giving us the ability to pray and to just honor you through our actions and through the love that we show one another. God, we love you and we praise you in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. We love you all. We're grateful for you just sewing into your marriage, just even being encouraged by prayer is sewing into your own marriage. And we want to encourage you, if you haven't already, to go join us. Check out our the marriage prayer club. It is our signature membership that you can come in, and every month we have a topic. So, for instance, one of the month's topics may be communication. Yeah, it could be finances, right? It could be there's there's topics every month that we give you scriptures to stand on to pray. So we give you guided prayers, we give you prayer journal that comes with you know verses that are again all around the theme because we're we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Even when we pray the word, listen to the word, read the word, those are forms of hearing God. And so, what's so awesome about it is you guys can go and in that month, everything that you're doing is around it. And even if you're the only one praying, if you're praying alone, that's okay. Yep, because it starts with you, right? Your first accountability is with your relationship with God as an individual. So we give you the guidance that you need. We have live prayer meetings where you can come and pray with us and submit requests each month. Yeah, I mean, honestly, this is something that we wish that we would have had when we first got married, even now. Yeah, I mean, we're excited that we can partner. Yes, God has called us to lead it, but when we lead things, we know that it is the power of God that is working through each one of us. Yeah, God's really leading this thing. And so we just want to invite you to check it out, to come get the support that you deserve and that you desire. Yes, and come see what the power of prayer can really open up. This is different, you guys. I promise you, your church is not doing this. This is not something that you've been a part of before. I don't say that with with pride or arrogance, but I say it with confidence and knowing this is what God has called us to build.
SpeakerDefinitely. And along with that is you're creating habits, healthy biblical habits each month. All right. And and you have a community to come around you. All right. Carly and I we're in agreement, we're excited about this, and we would love for you to be a part of it.
Carlie K.All right, you can check that out at the prayingcouple.com, or you can go directly to marriageprayerclub.com. All right, y'all. We love you and pray for us as we celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary on June 10th, 2026. Yes. Love y'all. Bye bye.
