Hello, hello, friends. Welcome back to another episode of the Praying Couple podcast. We're your hosts Mike and Carly Kirchoval. And we're so excited to be here with you today. One of the things that's pretty neat, if you are uh listened to the podcast last week, you know that Michael and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary on June 10th.

And we had a chance to sneak away to Charleston, South Carolina. And we had a really good time.

It's I feel like it was this is a funny story, though, actually. We had a great time, but the very first night we checked in on a Sunday, on a Sunday night. And that night we didn't know that there was going to be a rooftop bar that was, I don't know, maybe it was like a block or two away. Yeah. We didn't notice it because we were looking for that. So, needless to say, the first night we felt like we were in a club until about 2 a.m.

Which we were not. We were, you know, we were trying to rest to get rest for our early morning call time for the next day because Mike will share with you a fun activity that we did. But it was just kind of funny. We were like, oh man, like I I just don't even know what is going on right now. But I felt like even when the music finally stopped at like two something in the morning, I my body was vibrating from all of the base and because it's old buildings. If you've been to Charleston, it's it's an old city, beautiful, beautiful city, rich in history. But anyhow, it was just kind of fun. So, yes, we just recently celebrated our 26th anniversary. Yes, we did. And we took a week off to rest and just rejuvenate, but we're here again, ready to release a prayer for the week ahead.

We while we were there the next morning, we went on a horse carriage ride where we had a tour or a guy that gave us a tour of the city telling us the history around Charleston. It it was amazing. There was a lot I did not know. And again, imagine us not getting a whole lot of sleep. You definitely knew that we both needed coffee. And but needless to say, we had a great time. We're excited, we're back, and we're ready to pray.

Amen. Amen. Well, without any further ado, Michael, would you like to kick us off in prayer?

Mike K. 2:27

Yes, Father, we come before you. We thank you, God, that you are the God that is more than enough. I pray specifically for marriages out there. God, I sense there's a lot of people out there that are going through a season of change. God, whether it's change in finances, with grief, uh, a whole bunch of things might be taking place, even changing with maybe becoming an empty nester or people graduating. A lot of things are going on, God. And God, we need your help. We need to to know how to make the adjustments as we are walking and building our faith in you. God, we don't look to the past. We don't base things based upon past experiences, but God, we trust you. We ask you, Holy Spirit, that you will speak to us, that you will give us wisdom, that you will help us to walk that out in this particular season right now. I speak favor over each of our lives. I thank you for breakthrough. I thank you for healing. God, there might be emotional things going on or trauma things. God, I pray, God, that you will touch us, that you will help comfort us, that you will guide us. God, I pray, God, even when when Jesus was in the ship and his disciples were with him, he was sleeping. Even though there was a storm going on, when he woke up, he spoke peace to the storm. So I'm speaking that over our seasons of change right now. I'm speaking peace, I'm speaking healing, I'm speaking life, I'm speaking boldness. Some of us need boldness from you, God, that you will just continually guide us by the Holy Spirit. God, I also pray for husbands out there. Help us, God. There is a temptation for us to try to fix things or do things in our own strength. Even in this new season, God, help us not to give in to pride, but to surrender and humble ourselves under your mighty hand. So, God, I lift up every husband right now. I ask, God, that you will give us grace, you will give us confidence. God, we don't know what the next step looks like, but God, we choose to trust and rely on you. Yes. We thank you, God, that your angels are here ministering to all of us as we navigate through this new season of change. And God, I thank you for this in Jesus' name.

Thank you, Father. Lord, I stand in agreement with everything that Michael just prayed. And I just thank you for being our steady. You are our steady in all of the chaos, Lord. You are our peace, you are our anchor, Lord. You are our cornerstone, you are the foundation of everything that we do and everything that we will do in this life. Father, I pray right now specifically for just next steps, wisdom to catch our footing in this new season, Lord. Teach us how to stand, teach us how to walk. When you know, we know that the scripture says that the rain came and the wind blew, but our house, when it's built on the foundation, on the rock, it does not get destroyed. So, Father, I pray that you will teach us this week, in this new season, to take the next step to find that footing that will keep us anchored and fixed on you. You are truly the author and the perfecter. Some versions of your word say the finisher of our faith. And we're grateful for that today, Father. Lord, I pray right now for every marriage listening, every marriage that's represented under the sound of my voice, that your peace that passes all understanding would truly fall upon them. In every place, God, that they've that they have tried to to not let you in, in the hidden sins, Lord, in the in the secret places that they're trying to stay hidden, God. Show them that you know, you know, but you forgave them. Yes, they're forgiven. Release them, Father. Release them from the pressures of this world. I pray, Father God, for hurting wives right now, Lord. You know, our inbox gets flooded, Father. But this morning in particular, I had a dear sister from the UK share her heart and ask for prayer. She doesn't know what to do, God, because she found out there was infidelity in her marriage. God, I'm asking for prayer for the wives out there who are facing uncertainty due to infidelity within their marriages. That you would heal their hearts, that you would anchor them in this tumultuous time of their lives, that you would protect their hearts, that you would protect their children. Thanking you, God, that you are their provider. I thank you that your provision, as Michael said in the beginning, is more than enough. You are faithful, you are true. Nothing surprises you, God. But the beautiful thing is the story isn't over. It's not over. It doesn't end with our sin and the mistakes that we make as people, as spouses. The story ends with victory through the blood of Jesus Christ. So, Father, I pray victory. I speak victory over everybody listening today. I pray, God, that you will help us as wives to position ourselves to hear from you, that we would continue to love others well, but more than anything, that we would receive your love in the places that we feel inadequate, in the places, God, that we feel like we have fallen short. I thank you that your love will infiltrate them. God, I love you. I'm grateful for everything that you do. I'm grateful for the own season of transition in our lives. Michael and us facing many changes. The emptiness season is upon us. There's many other changes, God. You're calling us to restructure a lot of things in our personal lives, in our family, in our ministry online. Thanking you, God, that you are the wisdom and the voice of reason.

You are the way, you are the truth, and you are the life. So, Father, I just pray as we find our footing in this season, that we will not neglect your word, that we will hold your word tight to our heart, that we will meditate on it day and night, that your word is the lamp to our feet. We want to know the way, then we need to get into your word, and you will illuminate the path, that straight and narrow path that you have called each one of us as individuals to walk down. Father, we love you, we bless you, we praise you, and we look forward to an amazing week ahead. Yes, knowing that everything that we need, you've already supplied. God, we love you and we praise you in Jesus' name. Amen.

Amen. So we just want to encourage you, you know, as you start off your week, to just continue to meditate on the promises of God's word. Whatever it is that you're facing today, we're all facing things every single day. You're not alone and going through struggles. Maybe you don't know people who are going through the same things. But trust me when I tell you, the word tells us that brothers and sisters, to rejoice because there are other people going through the same things. Some versions say the sufferings, the same types of sufferings that you're enduring at this time. You are not alone. Not only are others going through it, but our Father in heaven is with us. We know that he released the comforter, the Holy Spirit. He is here in this realm of heaven and earth. He is here, he's with you, he's for you. He'll never leave you, he'll never forsake you. So no matter what you go through, you're not alone. And just know that in your time of need, that God will supply that person. You know, maybe you need a skilled laborer to come across your path to speak an encouraging word. Maybe you need a powerful encounter with him through worship, whatever it is, just be encouraged and know that God is going to meet you where you're at and give you exactly what you need. One of the things we want to remind you of, too, is that we love to pray. We obviously literally own the trademark, the praying couple. But on this mission, we are gathering lots of different individuals like yourselves who are coming together to pray, to have the habit, develop the habit. Even if you pray every day, it can be strengthened. That's right. We have not arrived. And so God had us to create a space. It's called the Marriage Prayer Club.
