Healing from rejection and abandonment
Mike and Carlie pray over those who have carried pain from broken family situations, fatherless or motherless homes, abandonment, and rejection.
Peace over your thoughts and emotions
This week’s prayer invites couples to stop giving negative emotions, circumstances, and past experiences the final say.

Hello, hello, friends. Hey everyone. Welcome back to another episode of the Praying Couple Podcast. We're your hosts, Mike and Carlie Kercheval. And today we're so excited to be praying for you again.
Mike K.Yes.
Carlie K.It's what we do, and we are thrilled about it. And something else that we wanted to share is we have some really exciting projects that God has put on our heart to release later this year. So you want to subscribe to the podcast, even get on the email list. If you go to theprayingcouple.com, you'll find a way to get on our mailing list. So then you won't miss out on some of the exciting things that God is doing and wants to do in your marriage. Well, without any further ado, we're going to get started. Father, we just thank you for another week to serve you. We thank you, Father, for the gift of time. We thank you, God, for the gift of just love and being able to love those around us. Father, we pray and ask that this week that we would do exactly as you instruct us to, that we would not let fear hold us back, that we would not let the lies of the enemy hold us back. We would not let things in our minds that do not align with your word to take precedent, to take charge, to even have any room to speak to us. We take authority over every thought. Your word says to take captive our thoughts and to make them obedient unto Christ. So, Lord, right now in the name of Jesus, we are submitting our thoughts to you. God, those thoughts that do not align with your word, your promises, we ask that you would weed them out, you would show them to us, and you would teach us how to rewire that neural pathway in our brain from taking it, flipping it from a lie to the truth of your word. God, we thank you this week that we are going to walk into blessings, that we are going to lead others into blessing, that you are going to cause us, Father, to see things in front of us that we have not seen. Lord, we thank you that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and neither has it entered into the heart of man. All the things that you have prepared, the good things, God, that you have prepared for those who love you, that love you. God, we love you. Yes, we do. Father, we're praying for marriages all over the world today, asking you that you would bless them this week. Bless the wives who are weary, God, from doing good. Bless the husbands who are weary from doing good and strengthen them and empower them by your spirit to continue to do the things that you are asking of them. We know, God, that if you've asked us to do it, that it is possible because all things are possible to us who believe, all things are possible for you. So, God, we partner with you and your plan for our lives this week in the name of Jesus. God, I also pray that those of us with families, with children, God, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, you name it, cousins, uncles, aunts, all the things. I pray, Father, that you would help us to connect deeper with our families this week. Some of us come from very broken situations. Some of us, God, have carried pain our whole life from rejection from loved ones, Lord, from from fatherless homes, motherless homes, God, just abandonment issues. So I speak to abandonment issues now. Yes, that that root of rejection right now in the name of Jesus. And I call you, I call them healed. I call you the one who feels rejected now. I call you healed, I call you received, I call you loved, I call you special. You are a child of God and don't ever, ever forget it. So, Father, I pray that you would just bind families closer together this week. Yes, and in the months, days, and years ahead. Lord, we love you, we bless you, we praise you, we expect great things in your name. I pray.
Mike K.Father, I just stand in agreement, God. I just thank you. I thank you, God, for you healing our lands. God, God, there's there's many of us out there that we're going through things day after day, week after week. God, we roll the care upon you. God, I stand in agreement that you will help us to cast down any vain imaginations, anything that has happened in our lives, that you will help us to cast down the thoughts and to get in line with your word. God, your word is the final authority. We choose to make your word the final authority in our lives. God, we choose not to replay or give in to circumstances that does not line up with you. We choose not to give in to negative emotions, nor feel sorry for ourselves, nor play the blame game. But God, we choose to cast our cares upon you. Jesus, you are our peace, you are our strong tower. Many of us are going through different things, but God, we choose to focus on you. Holy Spirit, we ask that you will help us, help us to take the next step. Many of us, there could be a temptation to be stuck in our thoughts, but we choose not to stay in that mindset, but we choose to run after you. Yes, Lord. God, I just pray that you will give us wisdom, that you will help us to walk in the authority that we have in Christ. God, I just thank you for this in the name of Jesus. I speak healing over our mindset. Thank you, Jesus. I thank you, God, for your peace. I thank you for your wisdom flowing. I speak that over wives and husbands right now in the name of Jesus. And for any husband out there that is thinking or tempting to think that you know what, I've failed, you're not failure. Jesus is Lord. And I speak healing over that mindset to say, you know what? Humble yourself under God's mighty hand. Whether you're a husband or a wife, humble yourself. God knows exactly where we're at. He knows how to get a hold of us, but we must choose to follow and obey him now. In the name of Jesus. I thank you, God, that you are the God that is more than enough. I speak that over our marriages right now. God, we choose not to feel sorry for ourselves, but we choose your way. Your word is the final authority, God. We thank you, God, for you shifting things and helping us to stay in line with your word. God, we put our trust in you. We don't put our trust in what past experiences have brought us to this point. We choose to trust in you in all our ways. Holy Spirit, guide us. Teach us. God, we thank you. You're the you are the God of peace. So I speak peace right now over our mind, our thinking in the name of Jesus. And God, we ask all these things in Jesus' name.
Carlie K.Amen.
Mike K.Amen.
Carlie K.Amen. This is awesome. So something that's pretty neat is that this past week, Michael was asked to teach a men's Bible study on a book that's called what's it called?
Mike K.Uh, Killing Kryptonite.
Carlie K.Killing Kryptonite. Okay.
Mike K.By John Bevere.
Carlie K.Okay, that's right. So it's just awesome because I know that Michael has been excited because Michael loves the word. So is there anything that you want to share that would pertain to marriage this week that you taught last week, if that makes sense? So would you share a message from the book that or just something related to it that would help husbands and wives who are listening today?
Mike K.Yes, one of the things that John Brevere talked about, and I believe it was chapter five. He talked about being be the change. And so as we're praying, I strongly believe that God wants us being, whenever we're being something, we're taking action. Yeah, we're not staying stuck, we're not giving in, we're actually stepping up and making movement. And so that's one thing that we we're speaking that right now into marriages to be, take action, not stay stuck, not give in, but actually put your faith into action.
Carlie K.Amen. And I like that because to be the change, that means that you are embracing the calling to change, you are actually agreeing to change, yes, and you're deciding that you're going to become the thing that God is asking you to become. And that's awesome. So we just want to encourage you this week and you know, every day, but this week ahead to look to Jesus, to lift your eyes to him, to remember that he loves you. Yes. And this is a side note. We would love your prayers as we finish up our first 365-day devotional right now, as of the recording of this podcast. It's June 28th, 2026.
Mike K.Yep.
Carlie K.And right now we are in the end part of finishing this. It's due to our publisher this fall. And we would love for you to pray around this because our prayer, our hope is that everyone who interacts with this devotional, that the Spirit of God would speak directly to them.
Mike K.Yes.
Carlie K.Speak directly to their hearts. And right now we're actually writing about prayer. So it's really, really exciting, all the things that God is doing in His people, through His Word, and in the land. So we love you all. Definitely. We will catch you next week.
Mike K.Bye bye.
